Infinix has become a household smartphone brand in Kenya, Uganda,Ghana &; Nigeria among other many African countries. Known for it’s exclusive sales on platforms like Konga and Jumia, the devices have become a favorite of many.
With the recently launched Infinix Note 5 Stylus followed by the Hot 7 that got relesed this year, the company is for sure headed to taking over Africa’s Smartphone market share together with Tecno,Itel and Huawei.
In Uganda, the Infinix was sold exclusively on Jumia and has never been sold again.
We’ve heard of reports of the phone being counterfeited but you do not have to wait to be among those who purchase a fake Infinix smartphone.
Infinix has created an online platform that helps you verify if your Infinix smartphone or battery is genuine.
The platform allows you to input the IMEI and VC number of your Infinix smartphone phone.
(You can get your device IMEI on your purchase box or dial *#06#. For the VC number you have to check on the battery or phone itself. It is usually below the battery compartment.).
Once you input the two and submit, Infinix will let you know if the device is genuine or not. You can also do the same for your battery (The battery verification works with only the IMEI and not the VC number).
Steps to verify your Infinix phone is genuine
Step 1: Login into the Infinix Verification tool
Step 2: Insert your IMEI and VC number
Step 3: Submit and wait for results.
infinix will inform you if your smartphone or battery are genuine Infinix products.
The picture above shows that our device is original and not a counterfeit Infinix smartphone.
If we tweaked the Imei number a little bit and entered a wrong Imei number(which does not exist according to the Infinix Mobility database),
the results will be as shown in the picture below…which means our device is not genuine but a counterfeit Infinix device.
Through above information you will be able to Spot a fake Infinix Phone.
