- Coutinho’s fresh new number at Barca is “7”
- He’s the first Brazilian at the club to wear this shirt
- The attacking midfielder joined the Catalans in January, scoring 8 goals and providing 5 assists in LaLiga after his arrival
Phillippe Coutinho will now wear shirt No.7, instead of the “14” that was worn by him last season.
The shirt finally has its owner, after Arda Turan left the club in winter and the number was free for half a year.
Throughout the whole Barca history, the number has been worn by such footballers as Pep Guardiola, Henrik Larsson, Eidur Gudjohnsen, David Villa, Pedro Rodriguez.
What’s more, Coutinho is the first Barca’s Brazilian ever to wear this shirt.
This will be the Brazilian’s second season at Barca, which is going to be the first full one as he joined the Catalans in January 2018.
8 – No other player has scored more goals from outside the box than Philippe Coutinho in Europe’s big five leagues this season (level with Messi, four with Barcelona and four with Liverpool). Missile. pic.twitter.com/khzjk9RyrC
