- PSG have already contacted Coutinho’s representatives for the move they expect to cost €270m
Mundo Deportivo’s cover story is PSG’s alleged move for Philippe Coutinho. According to the Catalan-based paper, Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Coutinho. The French giants offered one of Coutinho’s agents a transfer for €270m.
PSG haven’t contacted Barca because they want to convince Coutinho and his camp first. They know Barca will point at his €400m release clause and demand the whole sum.
This is the same strategy that the Paris club used with Neymar’s transfer last summer when PSG met with his father and agent in Ibiza prior to contacting Barcelona. With all the rumors suggesting potential Cristiano Ronaldo exit from Real Madrid PSG are fearful of Los Blancos’ move for Neymar and believe that bringing in Coutinho would keep Neymar happy.
Coutinho is very unlikely to demand a move because of his desire to succeed with Barcelona.
